The Belfry Theatre Apprentice Players is bringing to stage the summer youth production, “Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical,” opening Friday, July 27, and continuing through Aug. 5, with a total of eight shows.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, July 27-29 and Aug. 3-5.
The musical features local actors ages 13-20, and crew ages 12 and older.
“Disney’s Camp Rock” is a combination of The Disney Channel’s “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.” The show fires up the stage with more than a dozen songs, including “This is Me,” “Can’t Back Down,” “It’s On” and “We Rock.”
A classic story of rivalry and power, the musical opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence.
Dressed in tie-dye, the cast and crew have been singing songs from “Camp Rock: The Musical” throughout Noblesville. The “Camp Rock” cast and crew appeared in the Noblesville Fourth of July Parade and then performed on the Noblesville Fireworks Festival stage at Noblesville High School. The cast performed again on July 14 at the Kids Zone stage during the Noblesville Street Dance. They also sang “Camp Rock” songs during a special afternoon performance on July 21 at the Hamilton County 4-H Fair in Noblesville.
Tickets for “Camp Rock” are $18 for adults and $15 for ages 12 and younger.
