January 3, 1961 – March 3, 2019
Kevin Dewayne Alexander, 58, Sheridan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening, March 3, 2019 in Westfield. Born January 3, 1961 in Noblesville, he was the son of Donald Lee Alexander and Connie G. (Beam) Mason.
After graduating from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1979, Kevin set out on his own. For most of his life he worked as a self-employed roofer, a career that would take him all around the United States, and even down to Puerto Rico for a short time.
Kevin loved sports and passed that love on to his girls. An All State linebacker during his years as a Blackhawk, Kevin knew the importance of supporting his girls during their years on the field. He loved following whatever sport they were in at the time, especially when it was time for softball. Kevin loved to make people laugh and could be quite the jokester. Much to the chagrin of his daughters, he could also be a little bit too supportive at games. He could also be a little too supportive of his Seahawks as well.
Kevin loved to travel, and work gave him the opportunity to do just that. He also loved hunting and exploring the great outdoors.
Kevin is survived by his father, Donald Lee Alexander; his stepmother, Margaret A. Alexander; two wonderful daughters, Katarina A. Alexander, Indianapolis; and Kelli M. Alexander, Kokomo; two brothers, Steven Lee Alexander, Fishers; and Brad L. Alexander (Angela), Kokomo; one sister, Lisa Dieter (Mark), Rossville; and by his wife, Darvetta J. (Barnett) Alexander. Kevin also had a great love for all his dogs, especially his Rottweiler, Pud.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Kevin will be laid to rest at Crown View Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Kercheval Funeral Home, P.O. Box 42, Sheridan, IN 46069, to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
