Kathleen Mary (Kingsley) Wetzel, 74, Carmel, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. She was born January 30, 1950, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Fredric Thomas “Tom” and Jeanette L. (Hayes) Kingsley.
Growing up in a military family, Kathleen lived in several states and cities in the U.S., including Hawaii, California, Vermont, and Florida.
Following high school graduation, Kathleen attended Florida State University and eventually Ball State University where she studied the art of jewelry making and learned to create different designs. She enjoyed the craft and continued to teach jewelry-making after retirement. Kathleen also worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for several years.
Kathleen loved music and began playing the clarinet at a young age and became quite accomplished. She received a full scholarship to Florida State University for clarinet. She played in the church orchestra while attending her local church. Currently Kathleen was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Carmel.
Another interest Kathleen enjoyed was antiquities, which stirred her interest in participating in several archaeological digs. Kathleen was a lifelong and proud owner of chihuahuas.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Wetzel.
Survivors include her sons, Curtis Carroll Paul, Joshua Daniel (Andrea) House, and Jonathan David (Angela) House; six grandchildren; and sisters, Judy Doolittle, Patty Pomeroy, Arlene Chrostowski, and Jeanne Kingsley.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced later.
