Katheryn F. Thompson, 107, Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at The Waters of Tipton. She was born on April 6, 1917, to Fred and Grace (Kutz) Thompson in Zionsville.
Katheryn worked for 37 years for Firestone Industrial Products, retiring in 1977. She attended Noblesville First Church of God and enjoyed genealogy and scrapbooking. Katheryn was a member of the Hamilton County Art Association, Noblesville Senior Citizens, Noblesville Business & Professional Women’s Club, Tour Hostess Club, and the Noblesville Travel Study Club. She was also a realtor for Century 21 in Noblesville.
Katheryn was a world traveler, visiting more than 60 countries throughout her lifetime. She toured Western and Eastern Europe, South America, the Holy Land, and the British Isles. She went on Caribbean cruises and visited Mexico and Canada. She traveled to 49 of the 50 United States including a dozen or more visits to her favorite destination, Hawaii.
Katheryn was also artistic and used her talents in several mediums during her life. She painted in oil and took lessons from Hamilton County artist Floyd Hopper. She sculpted in clay and painted on China. She even used her artistic abilities in cake decorating for many years and created specialty cakes years before it was the norm.
Katheryn’s influence on her family and friends is deep and long lasting and will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Katheryn is survived by her brother, Arnold (Rayelda) Thompson of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Virginia Thompson; nephews, Greg, David, Stan, Fred, and Robert; nieces, Susan, Theresa, and Kathy; as well as several great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Geneva Thompson, Keith (Kay) Thompson, Harold Thompson, and Bernard (Dorothy) Thompson; and her niece, Janet.
A Celebration Luau will be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m., with eulogies at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. All attending are encouraged to wear Hawaiian clothing.
