Karen Sue (Inman) Wallace, 83, passed away on Sunday morning, February 9, 2025, at her home in Sheridan, surrounded by her six children. Born January 26, 1942, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of the late Warren Henry and Audia Deloris (Greathouse) Inman. She married the love of her life, Chester Earl “Chet” Wallace on June 6, 1958.
Sue was an active member of the Sheridan First Christian Church for over 60 years, faithfully taking her six children to church each Sunday. The first part of her adult life was focused on raising her children. When she felt the time was right, she went to work for Dart Controls in Zionsville, dedicating 24 years to the company.
An avid Dodgers fan, Sue was over the moon with excitement when they won the World Series last year. As a teenager, she and her lifelong best friend, Karen (Dodd) McQuern, were active members of Sheridan Job’s Daughters.
Sue is survived by one son, John David Wallace (Andrea) of Lafayette; five daughters, Karen Jo Wallace of Sheridan, Deloris Elizabeth “Beth” Curl (Bill) of Sheridan, Anita Carol Childers (Scott) of Sheridan, Debra Lon Brown (Danny) of Sheridan, and Stacey Marie Halvorsen (Harris) of Sheridan. She was blessed with 23 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Paul Edward Wallace (Gail), sister-in-law, Karen Inman, and lifelong friends, Bob and Karen McQuern.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Henry and Audia Deloris (Greathouse) Inman; six brothers, Jim, Bill, Tuffy, David, Jack, and Chuck Inman; her sister, Julia Ann Inman; and by her husband of 34 years, Chester E. “Chet” Wallace on July 28, 1992.
Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Sheridan First Christian Church, 107 W. 3rd St., Sheridan, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan. Reverend Michael Srbljan will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the Sheridan First Christian Church, P.O. Box 111, Sheridan, IN 46069.
