Junior varsity baseball results

The Carmel junior varsity Blue baseball team lost to Center Grove by the score of 6-1 on Wednesday.
Sophomore Chris Grzeskowiak (2.2 innings), junior Cole Lindley (2.1 innings), and freshman Mitchell Henneberry (1.0 innings) split the pitching duties for the Greyhounds. Grzeskowiak took the loss, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out three, and giving up four base on balls.
The JV Blue ‘Hounds were led offensively by sophomore Cody Li with two hits.

The Fishers junior varsity Silver team played to a 5-5 tie with Hamilton Southeastern on Wednesday in the first game of a two-game series.
Fishers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Jack Braun singled and then advanced to second base on passed ball. Braun then scored off of an Ian Willoughby double.
The Royals took a 2-1 lead in the second inning off of a two-RBI double. Southeastern increased its lead to 4-1 in the third inning. The Tigers also added a run in the third with another Willoughby double, which plated Braun.
The Royals tacked on their last run of the game in the fourth inning. Fishers added one run in the sixth inning when Evan Carmona scored on a sacrifice fly after reaching base with a single and moving over to third by a Bobby Fox walk followed by an error.
Fishers trailed 5-3 heading into their last at bat. Willoughby reached based when he was hit by a pitch. He was then moved to second by a Grant Moritz single who was then replaced by pinch runner Matt Bryant at first base. Carmona scored Willoughby from second with a single to bring Fishers within one run of HSE and set up Bryant, the tying run, on third base. Bryant then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. The game was called after the end of the seventh inning due to darkness.
The Tigers collected 10 hits on the day. Braun, Willoughby, and Carmona each collected multiple hits for Fishers.
Braun started the game on the mound for the Tigers and went four innings giving up three hits and striking out six. Mason Sweeny finished out the game allowing two hits and striking out five.
The second game of the series takes place at 6 p.m. tonight at Southeastern.
