Junior golf: County gets six winners at Age Group Championships

Hamilton County golfers made their presence known at the Indiana Golf Foundation’s Age Group Championships, which took place last week at Purdue University’s Ackerman-Allen and Kampen courses.
The county had six players win in their age division. In boys’ competition, Eli Beaverson of Fishers scored a 75 to win the Boys 18 championship, with Carmel’s Jack Crawford tying for second at 76.
Noblesville’s Jacob Deakyne won the Boys 17 division, shooting a one-under par 71. Deakyne fought back from being three-over par in his first eight holes, but finished his round in solid fashion.
In the younger divisions, Carmel’s Saahas Kandru carded a 75 to win the Boys 12 title, while Westfield’s Jake Cesare scored 76 to take the Boys 11 championship.
Meanwhile, Noblesville’s Haleigh Gray, a recent Hamilton Southeastern graduate, carded a 74 to win the Girls 18 championship. Carmel’s Angelica Pfefferkorn, a junior-to-be at Guerin Catholic, scored 75 to win the Girls 16 title.
