June M. Blake, a resident of Fishers, changed her residence on October 21, 2021 to heaven at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis and entered her eternal heavenly home to live with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was born on August 25, 1957 in Calvert County, Md., to Charles and Helen Brooks.
June started her career as a secretary at Prince George’s Speech and Audiology Department after graduating from Fleet Business School in Annapolis, Md. She raised two beautiful daughters as a stay-at-home Mom. June taught aerobics for Body and Soul and inspired others to keep fit and work out. She later worked as a school secretary at Calvert Elementary, Calvert County, Md. June loved learning and gained her insurance credentials and left Calvert Elementary to start her own insurance agency, June Blake Insurance Company. From 1994 to 2000, June and her husband pioneered Calvert Christian Center where she co-pastored for six years educating people in God’s word. She loved fashion and also worked part-time at lady’s dress shops where she enjoyed helping ladies look their best. June was passionate about fitness and nutrition and attended Global College of Natural Medicine. Reading and gardening were her favorite hobbies, as well as early morning walks with her husband. She had such a love for children and authored a children’s book. June had a shoe lace invention that had a pending patent. She was also a magnificent chef.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Victor; daughters, Bethany Gorham (Kevin) and Juliann Day (Todd); eight grandchildren; and three bonus grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Charles Brooks, Jr.
A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the funeral home.
