Judith Ann Kinder, 86, Noblesville, passed away on June 27, 2022, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born December 31, 1935, near Arcadia to Mark and Elizabeth “Betty” (Smith) McGill. She attended Jackson Township schools, including Jackson Central High School, but graduated from Tipton High School. She then furthered her education at I.U. Kokomo and received her BS degree in nursing in 1972.
She had worked at several hospitals and nursing homes, including Riverview Hospital, Dexter Memorial Hospital, Riverwalk Village, Harbour Manor, and Miller’s Merry Manor.
Judy, as she was fondly known, was a den mother for Cub Scouts and also a leader for the Boy Scouts for several years. She was a member and Worthy Matron of the Arcadia Order of Eastern Star and later transferred to the Noblesville Chapter. She enjoyed 50 years of membership. For over 35 years, she sang alto with the Hamilton County Silver Notes and was also a member of East Wayne Home Economics Club. Judy was an active member of Union United Methodist Church in Noblesville, where she also served as pianist and organist.
She married Gilbert Oliver Kinder on September 26, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2007. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert (Bob) McGill.
Surviving her are her children, Richard (Teresa) Kinder of Arcadia, Ronald (Bonnie) Kinder of Pembrook, Ga., Dennis (Michele) Kinder of Cicero, Debra Kinder of Noblesville, and Gary (Gena) Kinder of Dexter, Mo., grandchildren, Lucas Kinder, Joseph Kinder, Kaylyn (Chris) Bradshaw, and Jody (Alan) Mitchell; a great-grandchild, Elliot Bradshaw; and a sister, Rebecca (Larry) Deckard of Raleigh, N.C. She also has several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law who survive her.

Private graveside rites will be held at Arcadia Cemetery where she will be buried beside her husband. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Union United Methodist Church, 19090 DeShane Ave., Noblesville. Hartley Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
