Westfield Young Professionals (WYP) was established by the Westfield Chamber of Commerce around 2012 in an effort to engage young professionals and leaders in the area. The group’s purpose is to help others age 22 to 40 connect with local businesses and service organizations, improve their professional and networking skills, and build relationships with other young professionals.
Former Committee President Joe Van Deusen said, “The Westfield Young Professionals directly connected me to individuals I now consider business partners. Surrounding yourself with strong peers and building deep relationships while navigating all of the challenges associated with entering the professional world is vitally important, and the Westfield Young Professionals has given me that opportunity.”
Since its creation, the group has held multiple networking events, including social events and service opportunities. WYP typically meets on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at various locations. 2019 will be an exciting year with different kinds of events (dog and kid friendly) including some outside of the monthly meetups for those who don’t have flexibility in their Thursday evening schedule.
