Join local master gardeners for National Seed Swap Day

Come join the Hamilton County Master Gardeners at the third Central Indiana Seed Swap from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 – National Seed Swap Day – at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville. The seed swap is open to the public at no charge.

Visitors may bring their own seeds to exchange or just come and learn more about saving seeds. The event includes guest speakers, a kid’s corner, local merchants, food vendors and door prizes. Free swag bags will be given away to the first 100 adult guests. Seeds available for sale or trade are fruit, vegetable, herbs, flowers and natives. Many rare varieties may be found at the swap.

Food from 5280 Bistro and Generation Pies will be available for purchase.

Guest speakers and topics include: Bill Best, heirloom seed expert from Kentucky, Saving Seeds; Karen Golden, owner of Michigan Heirlooms, Bountiful Gardens: Tips and Tricks for Growing in Small Spaces; Remy Orlowski, owner of The Sample Seed Shop, Ornamental Heirlooms, Vegetables, and Flowers; Annette Webb, Master Gardener from Goshen, Ind., Scoop on Poop, Farming with 30,000 Worms.
