John Dale Carsey, Jr., 90, Carmel, formally of Katy, Texas, passed away comfortably with his wife Nora by his side at home June 24, 2020. He was born June 30, 1929 in New Orleans, La., son of John Dale Carsey, Sr. and Helen Louise (Hofmeister) Carsey. The family moved to Texas when John was nine years of age.
John was a great storyteller, especially enjoying sharing stories about his years working as a Chemical Engineer, and his brief time in the Army before receiving a medical discharge. Upon retirement, he loved spending time tending to his Texas farm.
On May 7, 2005, John and Nora Ann were married in Katy, Texas. In 2015, they moved to Carmel to be close to local family.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Nora Ann; children, John Carsey III, West Point, Texas, Kimberly (David) Kossa, Katy, Texas, and stepdaughter, Theresa (Gordon) Slack, Zionsville; grandchildren, John and Matthew Kossa; step-grandchildren, Andrew (Katy) Slack, Chelsea Slack and Paul Slack; and one great-step-grandchild, Weston.
A visitation will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
