John Allen Campbell

John Allen Campbell, 72, Noblesville, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at IU North Hospital.

John was born in Paragould, Ark., on December 30, 1951, to the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Carter) Campbell.

John grew up in Cicero and attended Hamilton Heights High School. After graduation, John attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to pursue his engineering degree. In 1980, John earned his land surveyor license and spent his career as a business owner specializing in land surveying. Throughout the years he was a member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors (M.S.S.) and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. Although running his business took up most of his time, John’s favorite was to go camping. He traveled much of the United States in his camper and never missed the Covered Bridge Festival at Raccoon Lake. He also liked fishing, spending time at Ocean City, Md., and working around the house and on the camper.

John is survived by his sons, Peter Campbell of Noblesville, Michael Shawn (Amy) Campbell of Elwood, and Steven Campbell of Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Tyler (Tzviel) Blankchtein of Deale, Md.; seven grandchildren, Logan Campbell of Noblesville, Gal Blankchtein of Deale, Md., Nathan Campbell of Charleston, S.C., Ashley (Alan) Godbey of Kirklin, Alan (Hana) Campbell of Greenfield, Ind., Bethany (Anthony) Ferguson of Noblesville, and Whitney (Anthony) McPhearson of Elwood; 12 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Chloe, Shyann, Brantley, Robin, Mariah, Harmony, Naomi, Aiden, Oliver, Jackson, and Everly; brothers, Michael Campbell of Anderson, Steve (Margaret) Campbell of Thorntown, Ind., Dave (Cindy) Campbell of Arcadia; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Campbell.

John’s wish was to be cremated and have a celebration of life at a later date. The family has entrusted John’s care to Hartley Funeral Home in Cicero.
