Guns in school dumb move.
House Bill 1253 to arm is an extremely dumb move and may in time result in the death of a teacher or other school employee. Will these teachers be wearing a police uniform or just regular clothes and have a weapon? What’s to stop a police officer from seeing someone with a weapon after shots have been fired in a school from shooting the teacher in the heat of the moment.
After all Carmel Police Chief Jim Barlow put it best when he said “It could be difficult to police officers responding to an active shooter to determine the good guys from the bad guys.”
Just because the gun lobby thinks this is a good idea we should not follow and see a teacher in the future being shot in a mistaken identity.
