Former Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction and Democratic candidate for Indiana Governor, Jennifer McCormick, invites all candidates for governor to participate in three regional Town Hall meetings centered around reproductive rights here in Indiana.

“Nearly two years ago, women’s freedoms were stripped from them when extreme politicians at the Indiana Statehouse convened a special session and passed one of the earliest abortion bans in the nation following the Dobbs decision,” McCormick said. “Hoosier voters deserve to know if their candidates for governor will protect or further attack access to reproductive healthcare in Indiana. Therefore, I am challenging all candidates to join me at Town Halls across the state to discuss the future of reproductive rights and freedoms in Indiana.”

Regional Town Hall meetings will take place across the state, beginning in Fishers on April 24, in Bloomington on April 25, and concluding in Merrillville on April 29. All Town Halls are open to the media and the public.

The Fishers Town Hall is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 11445 Fishers Point Blvd.

About Jennifer McCormick
Jennifer McCormick is a lifelong educator and fifth-generation Hoosier from New Castle, Ind. She has spent decades serving Indiana as a teacher, principal, and, most recently, state superintendent of public instruction.

While superintendent in rural Indiana, McCormick fought to protect local control of school districts to ensure parents, teachers, and administrators could make the best decisions for their children. As state superintendent, she was a powerful advocate for teachers and students, ensuring they had the resources they needed to succeed while protecting taxpayer dollars by demanding transparency and fiscal accountability.

McCormick says she believes it’s time to elect a public servant leader who empowers Hoosier voices so that together, everyone can make Indiana an attractive state in which to live, work, and thrive.
