Jennie Deliah (Corey) Kimmel

January 15, 1936 – December 11, 2023

Jennie Delilah (Corey) Kimmel, 87, Noblesville, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2023, with her husband Jerry and daughters at her bedside.

She was born on January 15, 1936, to the late Paul E. and Ancinohie E. (Smith) Corey in Guys Mills, Pa.

She graduated from Randolph East Meade High School in Guys Mills, Pa., Class of 1953.

Later that same year on November 7, 1953, Jennie married the love of her life Jerome “Jerry” W. Kimmel also in Guys Mills, Pa. The two of them have been at each other’s side for over 70 years.

Jennie was a woman of faith, and she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Cicero.

She loved to learn and challenge her mind; she was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved to cook and looked forward to feeding her family and friends. She loved playing games with her family.

Jennie and Jerry loved to square and ballroom dance, she was a past president of the Indiana Square Dancing Assoc. She and Jerry have traveled the United States square dancing and ballroom dancing from New York to California.

Family was the most important thing to Jennie and when it came time for the two of them to start their family, they wanted to raise their children on a strong foundation. Jennie passed on a lot of valuable life lessons to not only her children, but her grandchildren who she will always cherish. One of the things her family will always remember about her is she always carried a big purse that contained everything you would need in case of an emergency, if you lost a button she carried a sewing kit, if you fell and scraped your knee she would pull a Band-Aid out … Jennie was ready for anything.

She will be greatly missed by her family: her husband Jerry and their three children Paula G. (Mickey) Fenn, Marilyn K. Gregory, and Tammy J. (Dean) Rickenbach. Jennie was a loving grandmother to David (Tiffany) Stanesa, Michael (Courtney) Stanesa, David (Kaitlin) Gregory, Melissa (Don) Karomanis, Robert (Shae) Asbery, and Hunter and Logan Rickenbach, and a proud great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Jennie in death is her son Jerome “Buddy” in 1959, her son-in-law David in 1988, and her three sisters Mary E. VanSlyke, Adora A. Yokum, and Paula G. Brown.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
