Dear Editor:

Hamilton County has been home to me since 2003. I immediately started volunteering to understand how I can do my part to make Hamilton County a better place. I have always felt it was my duty to help where needed. That journey led me to becoming Fall Creek Township Trustee, and eventually Hamilton County Councilor.

As I seek re-election to the Hamilton County Council, I will continue to serve my county well. I want to keep government limited while maintaining low taxes. We live in one of the best counties in the country, and we need people with strong knowledge, experience and work ethic to continue serving.

I have always been a strong supporter of public safety. I serve on the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Committee, the Hamilton County Emergency Management Committee, and the County Fire Chief Committee. Residents should be protected efficiently, effectively and quickly.

I regularly interact with members of multiple departments throughout the county to improve support and gather ideas, ensuring our community public safety agencies stay on the leading edge. Our public safety professionals should always have the best training available.

In addition to public safety, our residents deserve high value for low taxes. I am proud to dive deep into our county budget in order to understand it. It’s my duty to serve the residents of Hamilton County, and I am ready to help at any level to protect our county.

Please remember to vote this year. In the midst of COVID-19, any resident can now request an absentee ballot. Request a ballot by going to the county’s website here.

I ask for your support on June 2, or prior if you are voting early.

Thank you.

Jeff Hern
