Jean Ann Thornton, 89, formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on April 4, 2022, at Five Star Residences of Noblesville. She was born on May 20, 1932, to Wilbur and Evelyn Cyr. Jean Ann graduated from Lakeville High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Harold Thornton, on May 30, 1952. They went on to have four children, Vicky, Mark, Laurie, and Amy.
Jean Ann took great pride in her home, which was always beautifully decorated inside and out. Her flowers, bushes, and other plants were brilliant, colorful, and breathtaking – she truly had a green thumb. Jean Ann was both a singer and a piano player. Her family and friends were delighted to hear her gorgeous voice whenever she sang in church. She was a talented artist and taught ceramics classes in her basement in Mishawaka for decades.
She traveled both with her family and on solo excursions through her sorority in her later years. Jean Ann loved playing cards and games. She enjoyed plays and musicals. She cherished doing all these activities with both family and friends.
Everyone who loved and knew her will miss her kindness, generosity, and sweet nature.
