Due to a conflict of sound from nearby band performances, the popular IU Health North Hospital Jazz on the Monon concert series will move to a new location for the remainder of this season. The city of Carmel appreciates your patience as you move to another new location as completion of construction is awaited in Midtown and the Arts District.
Beginning this weekend, the event will move just a little south of its current location along the Monon Greenway to Center Green – the same popular venue where the weekly Carmel Farmers Market is held on Saturday mornings. This will be the location for the remaining concerts from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 23, June 30, July 28 and Aug. 4.
All concerts are free and open to the public. IU Health North Hospital Jazz on the Monon welcomes the following performers:
- June 23 – Brenda Williams
- June 30 – The Kenny Phelps Band
- July 28 – Tad Robinson
- 4 – Slammer Jazz

There are many fine dining choices nearby for pre-concert meals, but Jazz on the Monon patrons may also bring their own picnic, or grab carry-out from Carmel City Center restaurants. Visit CarmelCityCenter.com for a complete listing of options.
Concert attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. Carmel’s “Bike There, Borrow a Chair” program will provide a free lawn chair for the night if you prefer to bike to the event. At the end of the night, return the chair and bike home. The City encourages all bicyclists to bring their own locks to secure their bike to the bike racks provided during the event. Chairs for the program are supplied by the National Bank of Indianapolis.
Visitors arriving by car are encouraged to use the Veterans Way parking garage at Carmel City Center. There is a new gravel path leading directly from this garage to Center Green for very easy and direct access to the concert venue. Please note that the intersection of 3rd Avenue SW and City Center Drive is closed for construction until early July.
