On Oct. 8, Janus held its popular annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, and once again it was a great success.

Janus volunteers were treated to lunch, which included appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks. Each volunteer received a thank you card created by Janus clients, as well as hand-painted magnets, which were enclosed in a new, specially-designed “Janus Volunteers Create Magic” tote.

Some volunteers at Janus assist clients with gardening, reading/storytelling, music, dance fitness, art projects and work experience and recreational activities. Others enjoy spending their time with the Janus Guild planning and hosting fundraising activities and helping clients celebrate various holidays throughout the year.

Nancy Morgan, a volunteer, who drives from Greenwood to Janus each week said, “I enjoy the time and the variety of activities I work on with Janus clients. I’m on a first name basis with many individuals, who consider me their friend. I feel like I receive many more blessings than I am able to provide.”
