Janet Rose Ottinger

September 13, 1940 – May 17, 2018

Janet Rose Ottinger, 77, passed away at her home in Sheridan with her twin daughters by her side on Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2018. Born in Noblesville on September 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth G. and E. Fern (Whicker) Keesling. Janet grew up in Jolietville and attended Westfield High School.

She would marry the love of her life, Floyd Matthew Ottinger, on July 12, 1958 at her parent’s home. Family was the most important thing in Janet’s life. She was a dedicated farm wife and homemaker, a loving mother to her twin daughters, and a caring friend to everyone who was lucky enough to have known Janet and Floyd. She was a member of the K.V. Elliott Post 67 American Legion Auxiliary in Sheridan.

Janet is survived by her twin daughters, Stephanie Ann Ottinger and Jennifer Rose Ottinger, both of Sheridan; and by her brother, Ronald E. Keesling (Carol Jean) of Ft. Smith, Ark.

She is also survived by her four-legged child Buster; and by her grand dogs Max and Buddy who will miss her very much.

She was preceded in by her parents; her brother, Kenneth “Tuffy” Keesling, Jr.; and by her husband and best friend, Floyd Ottinger, on June 12, 2017.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan. Janet’s nephew, Pastor Wayne Ottinger will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home.

Janet’s family would like to thank everyone at Seasons Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care.
