Jane E. Brooks, 55, Noblesville, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Riverview Health. She was born on February 5, 1962 to Gilbert and Margaret (Casteel) Bloom in Muncie.
Jane worked as a major gift officer for the alumni department of Ball State and DePauw Universities. She loved quilting, baking, swimming, tanning and the beach. Jane loved to shop and was very generous, spoiling everyone in her life. She was a Vera Bradley enthusiast who also loved old movies and TV shows. Jane had a love for music and played the clarinet. In 1991, she renewed a friendship with a classmate and fellow choral member from Muncie Northside High School who became the love of her life, her husband of 26 years, Kenneth David Brooks. Jane’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Andrew (Tasha) Shaw; daughter, Katie Brooks; father, Dr. Gilbert L. Bloom; four grandchildren, Ethan L. Shaw, Ella H. Shaw, Sophia M. Cornelius and Harper L. Cornelius; and her father- and mother-in-law, David and Suzanne Brooks.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth David Brooks on September 13, 2017; mother, Margaret Bloom; sister, Leigh Bloom; and her grandparents, John and Audline Casteel and Helen and Herbert Bloom.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with visitation from 1 p.m. to the time of service. Pastor Sherrie Drake will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie at a later date.
