James William Rosser, 92, Carmel, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Woodland Terrace of Carmel. He was born on May 16, 1929 to Harley and Amy (Brown) Rosser in Vigo County.
Jim grew up in Fontanet, Ind., and was a 1947 graduate of Fontanet High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He worked for CBS Records in Terre Haute for 29 years as a production control manager. Jim was member of the Brazil American Legion, was a volunteer at the Carmel Clay Public Library, and was a faithful member and volunteer at Cornerstone Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, loved reading, and was an avid attendee of the performing arts. Jim loved watching his grandchildren grow up and they brought him great joy. He was known for his friendly demeanor and for being a kind person.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rosser; daughters, Nancy (Mark) Lawler and Sally (Robert) Neal; and grandchildren, Eric, Anna, and Claire Lawler, and Kathleen and Robert Neal.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Lawler.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main St., Carmel, with Pastor Luther Brunette officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil at 2 p.m.
