James (Jim) Edward Baker, 90, Carmel, ended his life’s journey on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was born December 13,1929 in Chicago, the youngest of six children, all of whom preceded him in death.
Jim served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran. He was a grocery store owner and, in later years, an organ transplant courier for a medical clinic. Jim was an avid Chicago Bears fan even after his move to Indiana. He enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, a hobby that he and his wife shared in their retirement. Computer crossword games were part of his daily routine, and he loved to read, often times a new book every week.
He was preceded in death by Alice, his wife of 56 years, their son James, and their daughter, Debra. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Charlie); his granddaughter, Kelly (Scott); his great-granddaughter, Makenzie; his great-grandson, Casen; a grandson, Sean (Tanique); and extended family members.
