Jackson Township Fire Department recently added a new ambulance to its fleet. This new state-of-the-art vehicle has a second to none exterior lighting package that allows firefighters to be as safe as possible on highway incidents, as well as responding emergent to the sick and injured. The interior has an automatic lift package that will lift the cot into the ambulance, preventing back injuries and allowing the department to maximize the efficiency of the staff available. The patient care compartment also has a four-point harness system in every seat allowing the paramedic to be restrained while caring the patient. The patient care compartment also has a variable light system. The department will hold a ceremony to bless the new ambulance into service at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 508 W. Main St., Arcadia. The public is invited.
