The Jackson Township Fire Department recently held its annual Christmas and Awards Banquet, a beloved family event that brings everyone together to celebrate the season and honor outstanding service.
Santa made a special appearance, delighting attendees not only by giving gifts, but also receiving donations of food that the department collected throughout the month of December. These donations will be distributed to local food pantries to help those in need during the holiday season and upcoming year.
In addition to the festive spirit, the evening included the presentation of annual awards to recognize exceptional service. This year’s honorees were:
- Firefighter of the Year: Ryan McIntyre
- EMT of the Year: John Moore Jr.
- Paramedic of the Year: Michael Kimball
- Unit Citation: Deven Cannon, Michael Kimball, Jennifer Moon, Kelly Walker, and Michael Kirchberg
- Green Cross Award: Deven Cannon
- Part-Time Employees of the Year: Russell Fisher, Garrett Spires, and John Moore Jr.
- Medal of Gallantry: James Carter
- 25 Years of Service: Chief James Carter
“The banquet is always a wonderful occasion to honor the dedication and hard work of the fire department’s personnel, as well as to bring our families together in the spirit of giving,” Chief Carter said.
