Jack W. Rush, 86, of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Westfield. He was born on April 8, 1931 to the late William and Bessie (Sloop) Rush in Logansport, Ind.
Stationed out of California, Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War and the reserves thereafter. Jack’s entire career was in construction. He loved traveling, card games, flea markets/picking and antiques and family activities/get-togethers.
Jack is survived by his beloved daughters, Catherine Rush of Wickliffe, Ohio and Elizabeth Rush of Sheridan; sisters, Loraine Hunter and Loretta Buckles, both of Fort Wayne; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bergmann of Colorado and Cheryl Tonn of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a special “dad” to Anita Otterman, Sheridan, and Charlene Usrey, Wickliffe, Ohio; and “Papa Jack” to Jessica and Emily Otterman.
Jack was preceded in death by Gloria, his first wife of 30 years; son, Daniel; second wife, Virginia; his brother, Maurice Rush; and sister, Marjorie Meyer.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life service at Christ United Methodist Church, 318 North Union Street, Westfield, IN 46074 on Saturday, August 12 at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
The family extends a special thanks to Wellbrooke of Westfield for the excellent care and love they provided for their father and brother over the past year.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Final Act Fund, a non-profit fund set up by his daughter, Catherine, to assist persons with disabilities in dignified burials as they pass from this life.
