Jack Russell, a longtime Hamilton County civic leader, has announced his candidacy for Hamilton Heights School Board At-Large in the November 2026 election.
“Hamilton Heights schools play a critical role in shaping the future of our students and community,” Russell said. “I’m running to elevate academic excellence, strengthen school safety and well-being, and ensure our schools remain fiscally responsible and community-focused.”
If elected, Russell will focus on five priorities: academic excellence; school safety and well-being; community connection; fiscal responsibility and operational excellence; and a culture of respect, accountability, and growth.
“As a parent and community leader, I believe school boards are most effective when they listen, collaborate, and plan for the future,” Russell said.
Russell brings more than a decade of experience in public service and organizational leadership. He currently serves on the Hamilton Heights Education Foundation, the Invest Hamilton County Board of Directors, the Hamilton County Tourism Commission, and the Cicero Fire Merit Board. He previously served on the Cicero Plan Commission and Cicero Town Council.
Professionally, Russell has spent 10 years in the chamber of commerce world, including eight years with OneZone Chamber of Commerce, where he serves as President and CEO.
A lifelong Hamilton County resident, Russell comes from a family that has been a staple in the community for generations. He and his wife, Emily, live in Cicero with their four children.
