J. Lynn Mundell

February 7, 1972 – March 28, 2025

J. Lynn Mundell, 53, Elwood, and formerly of Tipton, passed from this life of endless health problems to seeing the face of her Savior in heaven on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. She was born on February 7, 1972, in Tipton to Larry & Judy (Matherly) Mundell.

Lynn had most recently worked as a Spa Manager for her very special friend Shonn Piersol until her health forced her to retire. She had battled several rounds of cancer since she was 20 years old, always fighting back no matter what came her way, but you could not tell of her internal struggles as she always had a smile on her face and was pleasant to everyone. Lynn was a very loving person and very forgiving. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it!

Lynn was a graduate of Tipton High School in the Class of 1991. She loved animals and traveling and was able to go on a Caribbean cruise just last month. In her free time, she loved to crochet and was always into fashion.

Survivors include her parents Larry & Judy; one son, Connor Young and his girlfriend Brittney of Greenfield; two brothers, Allen Mundell and wife Kathy, and John Mundell, all of Tipton; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Lynn was surrounded by a large, loving family.

A funeral service celebrating Lynn’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Brown presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Mundell family at this time. Online condolences for Lynn’s family may be left on her obituary page at young-nichols.com.

Memorial donations in Lynn’s honor may be made to the Tipton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 237, Tipton, IN 46072.

“She was loved by any who met her as her happiness was contagious. She was the kindest human. What’s her favorite food? It’s whatever you like. What’s her favorite music? It was whatever you liked. Her favorite show to watch? It’s what you want to watch. That’s the Lynn Mundell that we all lost on March 28, 2025.”
