It’s a new beginning for Prevail

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Tami Wanninger and I am incredibly pleased to be the new Executive Director for Prevail. It truly is an honor and privilege to join the Prevail team!

While this is a new beginning for Prevail and a new role for myself, I am not new to Prevail. As a 25-year resident of Hamilton County, I have long admired the organization from afar. I have always been passionate about making a difference in my community. When the opportunity to lead a Hamilton County nonprofit providing such critical services presented itself, I enthusiastically threw my hat in the ring. I knew there was no better way to positively impact my community than through service to Prevail.

In just the first few weeks of my tenure at Prevail, I have been impressed by the dedication of our staff. Each person who works at Prevail is deeply committed to empowering victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, crime and abuse, and each staff member puts their whole heart into their work on behalf of our clients.

Their dedication shows. One of our clients who graduated from services recently reconnected with a Prevail staff member to share this message:

“I wanted to write you and let you know I’m doing so well and thank you for being a part of my healing journey. I’m handling life’s ups and downs with an ease I couldn’t have ever imagined experiencing for myself. I love myself and I love the life I’ve created for myself. I’ll forever be grateful for all the tools and knowledge I gained from you and for the comfort of your guidance and presence in court. Thank you so much!”

Domestic violence in our community is growing, and unfortunately with recent funding cuts close to 30 percent from our federal grants Victims of Crime Act, we need your help. Here is what your donation could do:

  • $50: Transportation to Prevail for an appointment with an advocate or support group
  • $100: Two hours of translation services
  • $250: Three hours of crisis line coverage by an advocate
  • $500: Program materials for sessions with an advocate or support group
  • $1,000: Advocate support to a rape victim at the hospital with follow up support and services

We would not be able to do this incredible work without your generous support. Prevail is committed to helping our clients on their journey to empowerment.

We at Prevail believe that with healing and hope our clients can create their new beginning. I ask you to consider making a donation to Prevail. Your gift will help us further our mission of helping our clients create their own new beginnings as they move towards safety and comfort.
