Last weekend, the Indiana State Police Pendleton District conducted a holiday patrol across the eight counties in the district, focusing on impaired driving and aggressive driving. The targeted patrols started the night before Thanksgiving and continued throughout the weekend.
Troopers worked days off to have an increased presence during the holidays.
The holiday enforcement patrols resulted in the following:
- 200 traffic stops
- 9 criminal cases drawn
- 1 arrest for operating while intoxicated
- 1 warrant arrests
- 1 arrest for illegal possession of a firearm
The Indiana State Police is committed to making the state’s roadways safer during holidays by continuing to conduct saturation patrols to locate and apprehend impaired drivers. Motorists are reminded to designate a sober driver or use ride-sharing companies.
To report a suspected impaired driver, please call 9-1-1. When you call, be prepared to describe the vehicle, location, and direction of travel.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
