As it begins its 2021-22 season, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) will require proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative test for anyone ages 12 and older to attend all performances and events at Hilbert Circle Theatre.
In addition, masks are required at all times for all patrons (including children over age 2), performers, staff and volunteers regardless of vaccination status in all spaces at Hilbert Circle Theatre, except while eating and drinking in authorized areas. Beginning Nov. 1, only those patrons who are fully vaccinated can gain entry.
“The dramatic rise in COVID-19 infections in Central Indiana made it necessary for us to rethink our vaccination, testing and mask policies,” said ISO CEO James Johnson. “To safeguard the health and security of our guests, performers, staff and volunteers, we believe this is the safest and most equitable way to provide in-person, live performances.”
The ISO is one of several Indianapolis-based arts organizations that is collaborating with Bindle, a software platform accessible by smartphone to give patrons a safe, secure and free method to prove their vaccination and COVID-19 testing status. Bindle allows users to store their COVID-19 test and vaccine records securely. More information is available at joinbindle.com.
To gain entry to Hilbert Circle Theatre, concertgoers must display an entry pass generated by the Bindle app. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements. Unvaccinated patrons must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test. The test must be administered no more than 72 hours prior to the performance. Performance ticket holders who do not comply with these policies will not be admitted.
“Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or that 14 days have passed since receiving the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines.
Patrons who cannot show proof of vaccination or recent negative test upon entry to Hilbert Circle Theatre may request a refund or credit to their account by calling the ISO Box Office at (317) 639-4300 during regular box office hours.
