Indiana Paralegal Association swears in new board members

The Indiana Paralegal Association, Inc. (IPA) held its annual swearing in and awards ceremony in July at the Skyline Club. The featured guest speaker was The Honorable Steven R. Eichholtz, Judge of the Marion County Superior Court, Probate Division, who honored the newly elected IPA officers and directors by conducting the installation ceremony.

The officers and directors of the IPA serve on the Board of Directors. The Board consists of four officers and 12 directors. These 16 paralegals volunteer their time to serve a one-year term. During their term, the officers and directors swear to represent IPA’s members’ interests to the best of their skills and abilities. The newly elected officers and directors are as follows:

Awards

Each year, the IPA presents awards to honor its members who have displayed exceptional abilities and who put their many virtues to work to better the organization. Four awards were presented at the ceremony this year. The awards and recipients are as follows:

  • Paralegal of the Year Award was awarded to Rhonda Murphy, Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP
  • Outstanding Board Member of the Year Award was awarded to Rhonda Murphy, Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP
  • New Member of the Year Award was awarded to Amy Yeskie, Krieg DeVault LLP
  • Paralegal Employer of the Year was awarded to Krieg DeVault LLP (Indianapolis). This is a new award which was started in 2015 wherein IPA votes for the award to be given to a law firm, corporation, organization or governmental entity that encourages membership of its paralegals in IPA, supports its paralegals attending IPA monthly meetings, supports IPA by sponsoring events and actively promotes the education of current and future paralegals.
