Indiana Flight finishes as national runner-up

The Indiana Flight 2024 girls basketball AAU team finished as runner-up in the 6th Grade Division I AAU National Championships this week. The Flight played its games in Rockford, Ill. The team won all three of its pool games, beating the Southern Starz (Alabama) 47-32, Tayler Hill Elite (Minnesota) 42-25 and MWE 53-27. In the bracket competition, the Flight won three more games, defeating Carolina Elite UA 59-45 in the first round, Angels Basketball Club (Ohio) 38-31 in the quarter-finals and Essence Extreme Nike 42-39 in the semi-finals. The Flight's run came to an end in the championship game, when it lost to BTR (Oklahoma) 51-38; it was the only defeat for the Flight during the season by another sixth-grade team. The Flight finished as runner-up for the second year in a row, and placed in the top four in the Division I National tournament for the fifth consecutive year.
