In the final weeks leading up to the election, the Indiana Democratic Party is launching its Hoosier Freedom Tour with its first stop at the Westfield Washington Public Library at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The first stop will feature local leaders State Rep. Victoria Garcia Wilburn (District 32, Carmel, Fishers, Indianapolis), and candidates Josh Lowry (District 24, Westfield, Carmel, Sheridan) and Matt McNally (District 39, Carmel, Westfield).
“In her first term, Rep. Victoria Garcia Wilburn has shown how Statehouse Democrats are Indiana’s pragmatic problem solvers,” Indiana Democratic Party Executive Director Dayna Colbert said. “She’s led on protecting our first responders and fought to expand gun safety measures like safe storage laws to keep Hoosier children safe. Hamilton County can send Matt McNally and Josh Lowry to the Statehouse to join Rep. Wilburn and stand up for the rights and freedoms of Hoosier families. They will work to overturn Indiana’s near-total abortion ban, support our great public schools and educators in Hamilton County, and fight back against efforts to ban books.”
Statehouse Democrats and Democratic candidates are running across Indiana to protect the freedoms that Hoosiers hold dear and that they say have been under attack by Indiana Republicans. This includes the freedom for women to make their own decisions about their bodies, to live free from violence in our communities, schools, and places of worship, and the freedom to read what you want.
Candidates will sign the ‘Commitment to Freedom’ to pledge their support for Hoosiers’ basic freedoms when they get to the Statehouse.
