Submitted

This Friday evening in Carmel, join ZeNai Brooks (candidate for Indiana Auditor), Destiny Wells, (candidate for Indiana Secretary of State), JD Ford (Indiana State Senator, District 29), Jocelyn Vare (candidate for Indiana Senate District 31), Victoria Garcia Wilburn (candidate for Indiana House District 32), Joey Mayer (candidate for Indiana House District 24), and Matt McNally (candidate for Indiana House District 39) will conclude the “Contract with Women” tour, a statewide effort calling on all Democrats and Republicans to sign a pledge that would put women and girls’ future first – not special interests and agendas.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Hamilton County Democratic Party’s Carmel headquarters, 182 W. Carmel Drive.

The “Contract with Women” pledge includes the following:

  • Restoring the freedom to choose
  • Expanding the right to birth control and other contraceptives
  • Fixing Indiana’s dismal maternal mortality rate
  • Passing legitimate workplace protections for pregnant women
  • Repealing the state’s high taxes on hygiene products
  • Addressing the state’s childcare crisis
  • Creating a statewide Pre-K system for our children

The Indiana Democratic Party also urges Hoosiers to add their name as well by going to indems.org/contract-with-women.

The “Contract with Women” Tour will be the 11th  and final statewide tour by the Indiana Democratic Party for the 2022 election year. Once finished, the state party will have held more than 160 events in about 70 counties in about a year and a half.
