Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) has announced it is establishing the Kenneth A. Beckley Scholarship at The Media School at Indiana University in honor of its longtime board member.
Beckley has been part of IMCU’s volunteer board for 19 years, serving on various committees and sharing his expertise in marketing and strategic planning. He served as the IMCU spokesperson for many years, appearing in commercials throughout the Central Indiana market through 2014.
“Ken Beckley has been instrumental in the development of Indiana Members Credit Union over the years,” said IMCU Board Chairman Bob Martin. “His expertise and guidance have embodied the true philosophy of ‘People Helping People,’ and ingrained it into the branding and culture of our organization. Ken’s hands-on approach is especially appreciated and is a testament to his lifelong contributions. It is with great honor and gratitude that we establish the Kenneth A. Beckley Scholarship at The Media School at Indiana University in honor of Ken’s extraordinary service to Indiana Members Credit Union.”
Beckley graduated from IU and had a distinguished career in television news and communications before leading the IU Alumni Association from 2002 to 2007. He was a charter member of the Media School’s Dean’s Advisory Board and received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the school in 2016.
“Ken has been a loyal friend to The Media School since its inception, and we are honored to have this scholarship in his name,” said Media School Dean James Shanahan. “Ken’s career as a professional and as a person will inspire those who benefit from this opportunity.”
The Beckley Scholarship will be available to undergraduate and graduate students attending The Media School through an annual application process.
