The IHSAA announced the pairings for the sectional volleyball tournament on Sunday night.
Noblesville will host Class 4A Sectional 8 for the second year in a row. The Millers play defending sectional champion Fishers in the first match of the event, scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. That will be followed by a face-off between Hamilton Southeastern and Westfield.
The winner of the Millers-Tigers match plays Carmel in the first semi-final at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, with Zionsville (moved back into this sectional after an absence of a few years) playing the Royals-Shamrocks winner afterwards. The championship match is set for later that evening.
Guerin Catholic and Hamilton Heights will play in Class 3A Sectional 27 at Brebeuf Jesuit. Both teams received byes into the semi-finals.
Bishop Chatard plays the host Braves in the opening match at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, followed by a match between Manual and Shortridge. The Golden Eagles get the Chatard-Brebeuf winner in the first semi-final at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, followed by the Huskies taking on the Manual-Shortridge winner. The championship match will be played at 7 p.m. that evening.
Sheridan will host Class 2A Sectional 43, which consists of five teams. Heritage Christian and Park Tudor play the opening match at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. The Blackhawks play Western Boone in the first semi-final match, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, then University takes on the Eagles-Panthers winner afterwards. The championship match is set for 7 p.m.
