Husky 4-H’ers Club Reporter
The Husky 4-H’ers had our first meeting of 2025 at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at Cicero Christian Church.
We got off to a great start this year with a game called “Get-to-Know” Bingo, where members got a chance to know each other better.
Then, we held the election of our officers. Coming back as President after a one-year break and with experience under his belt, Isaac Leonard was elected President for a second time. Tessa Hartwick was elected Vice President; her sister, Stella Hartwick, after serving as Devotions Officer last year, was elected Secretary. Grace Miller, who served as our Club Reporter last year, was elected our new Treasurer.
In a shocking twist, the Husky 4-H’ers have chosen two members to serve as Co-Reporters: me, Cash Camperelli, and James Fenelon, who will be taking turns on reporting for our club.
Our new Historian is Lydia Kilfoil. Lydia’s brother, Cooper Kilfoil, along with Colton Hoane, were elected Devotions Leaders. Our new Recreation Leaders are Levi Lindner and Lauren Happel. Our Health & Safety Officers are Matthew Duprey and James Fenelon, both of whom have served in this important role before. Our Song Leaders, serving as officers for the first time, are Zuri Ebigbo and Natalie Allen. Rounding out our Officers, our Refreshment Chair is Colton’s sister, Brooklyn Hoane.
Now for “The Dirt,” a special feature where I ask several Husky 4-H’ers: 1) how the meeting went; 2) what was their favorite part; and 3) what would they recommend for future meetings.
First up is Zuri Ebigbo, who said, “Good,” “My favorite part was to be elected Song Leader,” and “I would recommend more Officer positions for our club.”
Next up was Gavin Espino, who said, “Pretty good,” “My favorite part was the election because it was fun,” and “I recommend that I become Historian again in the future.”
Finally, Matthew Duprey, who said, “I think it went good,” “I liked me getting Health & Safety Officer,” and “I recommend that everyone runs for an office in the future.”
Then we held a raffle, with the grand prize being a Chick-fil-A gift certificate (won by yours truly). We finished out the evening with hot chocolate and ice cream sundaes for everyone, and all members are looking forward to the great year we have ahead of us.
