Huskies win fifth-place conference game

On Friday, Feb. 20, Hamilton Heights traveled to Lafayette to face Central Catholic for the fifth-place game in the Hoosier Conference.

The Huskies kept their play consistent throughout and came home with a dominating victory over the host Knights, 70-45.

Heights and Central Catholic were in a close battle in the first with the Huskies leading 19-14 through one.

They kept it going in the second, outscoring LCC 17-7 to lead 36-21 at halftime.

The second half also belonged to Heights, as they scored 34 to the Knights’ 24 to cruise to the 25-point win.

Jackson Mikesell led Heights with 21 and seven rebounds. Jack Kakasuleff joined in double figures with 14 and also dished out five assists. Rees Knapp’s nine, along with Drew Woodruff scoring eight and Gavin Lucchesi six helped balance out the Husky scoring.
