Hamilton Heights won a hard-fought game at Western Boone on Tuesday by the score of 59-52.
The Class 3A No. 10 Huskies ran out to a 12-2 lead after the first quarter, but the Stars cut that advantage to 21-20 by halftime. Heights was able to hold on in the third period, then put the game away with a 25-point fourth quarter.
Kayla Kirtley scored 19 points, one of three double-figure scorers for the Huskies. Ana Collar added 17 points and Lexi Branham scored 16. Collar had a good defensive game with nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Lauryn Wiley pulled six rebounds, Kirtley collected five rebounds and Branham had five rebounds and five assists.
Heights improved to 13-6 with the win and goes back on the road Thursday for a game at Yorktown.
