In its first coed meet of the year, the Hamilton Heights swim team split a meet with Anderson Tuesday at the Huskies’ pool.
The Heights girls won 116-59, while the boys team fell short in its opener, 97-85. The girls won seven of 12 events, with Rachel Sanqunetti and Tara Holder picking up double individual victories.
Sanqunetti was first in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke and Holder paced the individual medley and 100 free. Other first-place finishers were freshman Mady Hutcherson in the 50 free, and the Huskies’ medley relay and 400 free relay, both of which consisted of Sanqunetti, Ryleigh Poe, Emily Lester and Holder. Bailey Haworth took first place for the diving.
In the boys meet, Jared Holder won both the IM (just missing the school record by .14 seconds) and the 100 breaststroke. Freshman Eli VanHaaren won the 100 freestyle. The 400 free relay team of Luke Stohler, VanHaaren, Josh Glover and Holder also placed first. Freshman Dejuan King won the boys diving and Nate Jozsa placed fourth.
