Hamilton Heights split a dual meet with Western on Tuesday.
The girls won 102-83, taking eight events. Rachel Sanqunetti was a double winner in the 200 freestyle and the backstroke, while Tara Holder paced the individual medley and the 500 free. Other winners were Bailey Haworth in diving, Ryleigh Poe in the butterfly, and the Huskies’ medley and 400 free relays.
“I definitely think our relays are still swimming really strong,” said Heights coach Sue Beale. She was also pleased with the 500 free, which went 1-2-4.
“A lot of personal best times, a lot of first places,” said Beale.
The Huskies boys lost 113-65, with Jared Holder winning the 50 free and the backstroke. Heights also finished first in the 400 free relay.
The Huskies will travel to Purdue University on Saturday for the Hoosier Conference meet, where the Heights girls are two-time defending champions.
“We’re going to be gearing up for that, and we’re going to come in as strong as we can, and hopefully be a third time winner,” said Beale.
