The Hamilton Heights swim team split a dual meet with Tipton on Thursday.
The Huskies girls won 99-81. Coach Sue Beale said the team “had some great swims despite swimming meters for the first time in two years.”
Ryleigh Poe was a double winner in the 200 freestyle and the butterfly, Tara Holder took the individual medley and 400 free, while Rachel Sanqunetti placed first in the 100 free and backstroke. Emily Lester won the breaststroke. The four swimmers also teamed up to win the medley and 400 free relays.
Heights’ boys team lost 109-71. Jared Holder won the 50 free and backstroke, and teamed with Eli VanHaaren, Luke Stohler and Josh Glover to take the 400 free relay.
The Huskies had several strong second-place finishes, by Glover in the 50 free and breaststroke and Van Haaren in the 100 free. The team of Glover, Josh Snay, Joe Ringer and Grant Forrer took second in the 200 free relay, and VanHaaren, Holder, Forrer and Luke Stohler were second in the medley relay.
