Sheridan and Hamilton Heights met up on Thursday in an all-county softball game. The Huskies figured out a way to score in all five innings on their way to a 10-0 win over the Blackhawks.

The first inning got the Huskies going with a double from Lily Roush to drive in Lily Cash. Kaylee Rhoton walked and two were aboard. Roush scored from third on a passed ball for a 2-0 lead after one.

Heights kept it rolling in the bottom of the second when Taya Trosper scored on a wild pitch for 3-0.

Consistency was the key for the Huskies and that’s exactly what they did for five innings at the plate.

Roush again scored on a passed ball in the home half of the third. Melanee Forrester hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Rhoton and it was 5-0.

Morgan Ottinger doubled with one out in the fourth and would score immediately on a Cash base hit on the ground to left that pushed it to 6-0.

Cash stole second to get into scoring position, making it easier to score on Hailey Hall’s line drive to third and it would now be 7-0.

Kassidy Schakel led off the last of the fifth by lining a double to left. Schakel would score on an error by Bates at shortstop from an Emma Blanton grounder, making it 8-0.

Karma Collier sent Blanton home on another error by Bates at short. Collier put the exclamation point on this one for Heights by stealing home with one out for the final score of 10-0 in five innings.

Sheridan drops to 1-6 on the young season and hosts North Montgomery (0-5) tonight at 5:30 p.m.

Hamilton Heights moves to 4-3 overall and will head to Monroe Central (1-3) at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Cash led Heights with 10 strikeouts in five innings, only gave up three hits and walked just one. Roush and Cash both had two hits and two runs.
