The Hamilton Heights softball team went on the road Friday night to face the Lawrence Central Bears and came home with a three-game winning streak and a 10-4 win.
Hailey Hall singled to lead off the game. Taya Trosper laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Hall to second. Hall scored with ease when Heather Crays tripled to go up 1-0.
Kamryn Rhoton drove in Crays with a base hit to right for a 2-0 score. Lily Cash doubled the score with a two-run home run to left, giving Hamilton Heights a 4-0 lead.
Lawrence Central cut the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the first on a single and a bases-loaded walk.
Rhoton drove in another two runs with a home run to left and it was 6-2 in the second. This is Kamryn’s fourth long ball of the season.
Rhoton then put a ground ball into left field to score Trosper, moving it to 7-2. McKenzie Jackson doubled to center to plate another couple, extending it to 9-2. Isabel Morrow got the Huskies to double digits on a double to right to go up 10-2.
Crays gave up a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to the Bears, but that would be all that Heights would yield.
Hamilton Heights (8-4) has won three in a row and five of their last six and hosts Yorktown on Monday at 5:30.
