Hamilton Heights competed at the Tipton Invitational on Friday.
The Huskies girls finished a strong second, scoring 172 points to first-place McCutcheon’s 220. Heights won eight events, including double victories for Maria Mitchell in the 1600 and 3200 runs and Kelsey Smith in the 400 dash and high jump. Other winners were Abby Christiansen in the 800 run, Markaela Pugh in the 200 dash, and the Huskies’ 4×800 and 4×400 relays.
Heights’ boys placed third with 96.5 points. The Huskies had three second-place finishes: Jake Brinker in the 300 hurdles, Tad Defoe in the long jump and Alex Naylor in the discus.
