Huskies pick up first win at Cass

Hamilton Heights won its first game of the season Friday, and the Huskies picked the perfect time get that first victory.
Heights traveled to Lewis Cass for its Hoosier Conference East Division opener and came home with a 63-52 win. The Huskies outscored the Kings in each of the four quarters, leading 16-15 after the first period and 27-24 at halftime.
Tillman Etchison scored 13 points in the first half, including 10 in the first quarter. Heights then added 18 points in the third period to go up 45-38; Braden Kinder helped out with six points, including a 4-of-4 effort from the free throw line. Luke Carroll and Isaac Tuma both added five.
The fourth quarter was a repeat of the third, with the Huskies pouring in another 18 points. Maddox Bohland hit a 3-pointer, but all the other points were scored from the free-throw line. Etchison was 8-of-10 from the line, helping to seal the win.
Etchison finished the game with 21 points, while Kinder added 16 points and Carroll scored 14. Carroll led the rebounding with eight, followed by Bohland with five.
Heights is 1-3 and hosts Delta tonight.
