Hamilton Heights put together an incredible defensive performance on Friday, overwhelming Lebanon 37-14 at the Tigers’ Rosenstihl Gymnasium.
The Class 3A No. 5 Huskies led 11-4 after one quarter, then shut out Lebanon in the second period for a 16-4 halftime lead. The third quarter was close, but Heights still led 26-12 going into the fourth, then outscored the Tigers 11-2 in the final period.
Camryn Runner hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, totaling five for the game and 21 points. Ella Hickok scored 10 points, including two triples in the first quarter.
“Great effort by all,” said Huskies coach Keegan Cherry. “We got a little quick on a few possessions. Once we got settled in, got back to doing our jobs, being great in our roles, we were able to get what we wanted. Didn’t shoot it like we would’ve wanted, but outside of a few possessions, we were dialed in defensively.”
Heights is 6-1 and is off until Nov. 30 when it hosts North Miami.
