Hamilton Heights soared to an easy Hoosier Conference victory on Thursday, beating Lewis Cass 77-18 at the Husky Dome.
Class 3A No. 10 Heights led 21-1 after the first quarter and 37-5 at halftime. Three Huskies reached double figures, with Kayla Kirtley scoring 27 points. Payton Dissett added 14 points; both players made three 3-pointers,
Bayleigh Runner scored 10 points. Kirtley also led the boards with seven rebounds, while Ana Collar and Lauryn Wiley both pulled five. Heights had 21 team assists, with Lexi Branham dishing out eight and Runner handing out four. Kirtley also made two blocked shots.
This was the first conference win of the season for the Huskies: Their only other conference game prior to Thursday was a December loss to 3A No. 1 Northwestern. Heights, now 9-6 overall, will finish out Hoosier Conference East Division play next week, but will first travel to Westfield on Saturday afternoon for a 1:30 p.m. game.
